About this cause

The Aboriginal Literacy Foundation seeks to transform the lives of Indigenous children by focusing on literacy and numeracy education. Working in collaboration with local communities and partners, we develop literacy skills with Indigenous children so that they can succeed in school and beyond.

How will the funds be used?

By collaborating with Indigenous communities and schools, the Aboriginal Literacy Foudnation identifies areas where funds can be most effectively used, so that aid is given directly to where it is needed most.

Rather than simply sending off books and hoping for the best, the Foundation goes directly to remote communites and works alongside children, ensuring that they get the best possible start to their education.

Key areas of expenditure

  • Weekly tutoring
  • Books and learning resources for remote communities and schools
  • Literacy & Heritage Camps
  • Learning scholarships
  • Literacy testing, research & evaluation
