Embrace People & Place seeks to welcome people in need by rethinking how support services can work together and how space is shared and used to benefit vulnerable people in the NSW Hunter Region. This is supported by a model of practice that includes co-located and integrated services and programs, featuring collaboration with a wide variety of partners, and various approaches to tackle social exclusion (from food security, employment, transport, through to homelessness).
Embrace People & Place is guided by the following overarching pillars:
1. Being Ecologically Sound
2. Protecting People from Harm
3. Walking Together with Traditional Custodians
4. Empowering Communities
At 437 Hunter Street in Newcastle, the role of Embrace People & Place is to:
• Coordinate the collaborative work of organisations and groups that occupy the building
• Manage integrated service and program delivery
• Contribute to the strengthening and further development of Embrace People & Place partners (with a focus on in-house partners with support also provided to community partners not residing in the building). The overall aim is to build sector capacity in the Hunter.
