About this cause

Join us in making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities in Harpan Village, Nepal. This project, led by Lars and Carla (Power of Passion) in partnership with Hervey Bay Sunrise Rotary in Australia, is being delivered in Nepal in collaboration with the REACH for Nepal Foundation and the Namuna Disability Society, Harpan to create sustainable change and support those who are often overlooked.

Our Mission: To foster independence, improve livelihoods, and promote social inclusion for individuals with disabilities in the Harpan Village, Kaski Nepal

What We're Doing: In partnership with local communities, we're providing training, resources, and seed funding for small-scale businesses in goat rearing, beekeeping, and poultry farming. These initiatives are not just about economic empowerment; they're about restoring dignity and providing long-term sustainability. We’re also offering scholarships to children and adults with disabilities to further their education.

Why This Matters: Many individuals with disabilities in rural Nepal face significant barriers to employment and social integration. They often rely heavily on family support and lack opportunities to become self-sufficient. Our project aims to change this narrative. By providing skills training and financial support, we're enabling them to:

  • Achieve Financial Independence: Create sustainable income streams and support their families.
  • Improve Quality of Life: Gain confidence and control over their lives.
  • Enhance Social Inclusion: Become active and valued members of their community.
  • Promote Ecological Sustainability: Beekeeping, a key component of the project, supports local biodiversity.

Your Impact: Your generous donation will directly fund:

  • Training Programs: Equipping individuals with the skills to run successful businesses.
  • Seed Funding: Providing essential resources like goats, beehives, and poultry.
  • Scholarships: Supporting education and future opportunities.

We're working closely with Namuna Disability Society to identify those most in need and ensure that your contribution has the greatest impact. Our approach also aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including No Poverty, Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Reduced Inequalities.

Join us in making a lasting impact. Your support will help us help individuals with disabilities, build stronger communities, and create a brighter future in Nepal.
