RISE eX-detainees Door-to-Door Emergency Relief Foodbank Appeal
RISE Emergency Foodbank Relief Drive is a unique door-to-door program that distributes essential groceries, fresh food, and toiletries to our members who are eX-detainees and asylum seekers. Like other programs at RISE eX-detainees, we run this vital program entirely without federal, state, or local government funding. The RISE Emergency Foodbank Relief Drive initiative is an essential part of our invaluable service that reduces hunger. Our members who are accessing our program are the ones who have been overlooked or turned away by other organizations for a variety of reasons, including their "VISA status".
For over 5 years, since the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown, our Emergency Relief Program has been providing free relief packages filled with fresh vegetables, whole-foods and other essentials to our members who are asylum seekers and eX-detainees.
RISE Emergency "Door-to-Door" Relief Drive, in contrast to many foodbanks, guarantees that all participants in our program will get basic necessities, which are allocated proportionally based on each family's size and needs. We don't expect our members to return within two days, and instead we distribute care packages that include food supplies and toiletries for at least a month.
Additionally, our team actively saves food items from going to waste, and distributes them to members. We also ensure that these foods are safe to eat.
To support us maintain this much-needed program and address the gap in service, our RISE Emergency Relief Drive needs your ongoing assistance. Families and single adults of eX-detainees and asylum seekers can continue their days without going hungry because of your regular donation.
